Happy Cheyenne Frontier Days!
We'll be teaching our Wildlife of the Great Plains program in the Indian Village at 10:15 am, each morning Monday-Friday next week! The programs wrap up at 11 am, giving you plenty of time to explore, eat lunch, and make it to your seats before the cannon blasts and the rodeo begins at 1:00.
If you're not participating in CFD, rest assured you can come see us at the museum, too. We're open Monday-Saturday, 9 am - 4:30 pm (including on Cheyenne Day!). Stop by to see the museum and enjoy some free air conditioning.
That's a wrap on Civic Season!
See you for America's 250th in 2026
We are so grateful to have partnered with dozens of local organizations and local young adults to pull off our biggest Civic Season yet. Six events across 15 days in both Cheyenne AND for the first time ever in Laramie.
HUGE thanks to Wyoming Humanities for the Community Culture Grant that made it all possible. And an even bigger thank you to all the people who showed up to dive into civics with us.
Whether you attended an in-person event, took the civic superpower quiz, or just browsed TheCivicSeason.com, your feedback can help shape Civic Season 2026. Participants who fill out this short five minute survey will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 Amazon gift card:
We took tons of amazing photos, see them all here!

Inspired by the Land: 25 Years of Conserving Wyoming’s Working Lands
closes on July 26th
Discover the beauty and heritage of Wyoming’s working landscapes in the Capitol Gallery’s extended exhibition, “Inspired by the Land: 25 Years of Conserving Wyoming’s Working Lands.” This collaborative exhibition between the Wyoming Stock Growers Land Trust and the Wyoming State Museum will now be on display through July 26th.
This exhibit features photography, paintings, poetry, fiber arts, and historic artifacts, offering a unique glimpse into the deep connections landowners and Land Trust supporters have with the land. Through their personal stories, you’ll discover what these landscapes and their inhabitants mean to their families and the enduring spirit of Wyoming.
“Inspired by the Land” invites visitors to reflect on their relationship with our treasured natural spaces. Located in the Capitol Extension, the Capitol Gallery serves as a dedicated space for celebrating Wyoming’s rich cultural heritage through engaging rotating exhibitions and partnerships with institutions statewide
