Rep. John Lewis’s legacy of resistance, protest, and resilience is one that continues to inspire Americans across the country to take bold action—and we need that inspiration now more than ever.
60 years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson federalized the National Guard to protect peaceful civil rights marchers like John Lewis in Selma, AL. Today, Trump has called the Guard to stop protestors from using their voice and to block progress on issues we care about.
This is not the progress that John Lewis fought for. And his memory deserves better from us.
We can’t keep going backwards. Tomorrow is the anniversary of Rep. John Lewis’s passing, so we’re mobilizing across the country to demand that Congress protect our rights and ensure free and fair elections for all. Click here to find a way to mobilize near you.
Tomorrow, we’re sending a clear message: in the United States, the power lies in the hands of the people.
We’re calling for an end to the extreme crackdown on our civil rights—from our right to vote to our right to protest and free speech. We’re decrying the attacks on Black and brown Americans, immigrants, trans people, and other communities. And we’re demanding an end to the slashing of programs that working people rely on, like Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security.
Rep. John Lewis warned us of this moment. He spent the final years of his life fighting to protect our rights. This is our moment to carry the torch, continue his legacy, and pass it forward to future generations.

Thanks for all that you do!
