Last week, I set sail on the first of our state ferries to be converted to
hybrid-electric power alongside former Gov. Jay Inslee.

The Wenatchee is now the country’s largest hybrid ferry. This is huge
progress for our future. While the federal government is cutting back
investments in clean energy, we are investing in reducing carbon emissions
and being responsible stewards of our environment.

We’re not stopping there. Washington is building three new vessels and all
will be electric.
