John—
Let me get straight to the point: our nation’s child care industry is in crisis and may not survive the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent analysis from NWLC and other partners shows that at least $9.6 billion each month is needed just to keep the system going, yet Congress has only allocated $3.5 billion in total to the entire child care sector. Child care providers—who are disproportionately women of color—are struggling, and with states prematurely reopening, families will not be able to get back to work without urgent intervention.
That’s why we need you.
