Friends and Neighbors,
I hope you and your family are staying safe and well. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, and speak to this critical moment we face as a country. The horrific deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery -- not to mention a global pandemic -- have underscored the inequality and inequity that we must address in our state and nation.
I know many of us right now feel compelled to take action. As a state senator, I’ve heard directly from people across Missouri about the challenges they’re facing: illness, lack of health care, job loss, childcare needs, and so much more. And these last few weeks have highlighted the ways that racial injustice keeps us from becoming the nation we long to be, one with real and equitable opportunity for everyone.
The road that lies ahead of us is perhaps the toughest we’ve ever faced. It’s clear now more than ever that we need leaders who will fight inequality with justice, combat divisiveness with integrity, and most importantly, put the well-being of our communities first. Since I first ran for school board, I have served my community by finding solutions to the real problems facing our hardworking families, and that’s why I’m running for Congress in Missouri’s Second District.

We need to ensure access to affordable health care, lower prescription drug costs, tackle systemic inequality, and take on the corruption and special interests in Washington.
