The Campaign is Committed to Equity and Fairness 

The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action leaders, Susan Hassmiller, PhD, RN, FAAN, and Susan Reinhard, PhD, RN, FAAN, released a statement underscoring the Campaign ’s commitment to equity and fairness in the wake of the brutal killing of George Floyd. “Racism and injustice have no place in our country today,” they said.

Nursing Has Never Shied Away From Calling Out Social Injustices

In a 15-minute interview with AARP's Take on Today Podcast, Catherine Alicia Georges, EdD, RN, FAAN, outgoing national volunteer president of AARP’s board of directors, addresses the long-standing linkage between racism and health disparities. Georges says that while nursing's voice hasn't always been heard as loudly as it should, that is changing due to organizations like AARP and its Center to Champion Nursing in America.

Nurse Educators Focus More on Simulation During COVID-19 

The COVID-19 pandemic has spurred nurse educators in simulation labs across the country to consider the merits of the increased use of simulation and the adoption of academic/clinical partnerships to propel their students over the finish line to graduate.

The American Nurses Foundation and other nursing organizations are conducting a series of national surveys to gather nurses’ experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. This first survey is focused on nurse mental health and well-being. Your responses will inform how these groups can best support nurses during this time.

New - Complete Survey to Assess APRN Practice Barriers During COVID-19

All advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) are invited to participate in a 10-15 minute national survey conducted by nurse researchers from Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, and the University of Tennessee regarding the impact of COVID-19 on APRN practice, roles, and patient care.

Community Preventive Services Task Force Seeks New Members

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is soliciting nominations for public health and prevention professionals who are interested and may be qualified to serve on the Community Preventive Services Task Force.  Appointed by the CDC director, each member serves a five-year term on the independent panel of experts. Applications are due on Friday, June 26 on or before 5 p.m. ET.
