Aloha, Hawai'i Republican 'Ohana!

There’s no time to waste. The 2026 Election is 16 months away, and the HRP executive team is kicking its efforts into high gear, meeting with key leaders to formulate winning strategies and setting up an innovative and aggressive fundraising campaign.

🛑 While there are many issues that concern conservatives in Hawaii, this week the State LGBTQ+ Commission brought one of those issues to the forefront. We thank all our members who rallied around the call to action for Monday’s meeting of the State LGBTQ+ Commission, where the status of a request for an Executive Order by Governor Josh Green designating Hawaii as a sanctuary state for “gender affirming care” was discussed.

Republicans across the country champion policies that uphold parental rights, traditional family values, and the protection of children, and at our 2024 State Convention, delegates adopted a platform that affirmed these commitments:

“Families should be protected and empowered to make decisions for their minor children that are consistent with their values, beliefs, faith, and the U.S. Constitution.”

“Parents must be informed and allowed to make health care decisions for their minor children.”

“Medical interventions on a minor under the age of 18 that disable their future fertility, whether surgical or pharmaceutical, must be prohibited in law.”

The HRP is firmly committed to defeating all efforts that are an affront to these values.

⭐ ️ On July 9th, we met with former Governor Linda Lingle and State Representative Diamond Garcia to study the results of previous elections and assess the races with most promise. The result was a surgical strategy for success in the 2026 Election cycle, which will be presented by Chair Hannemann and Representative Garcia at meetings across the state in the next few weeks. Be on the lookout for upcoming details on a meeting near you.

💰 To support this masterful campaign strategy, we have appointed a highly-skilled finance team, chaired by Sheila Walker. This team is responsible for achieving the HRP’s loftiest fundraising goal to date and, along with State Treasurer Dennis Mataia, has already begun crafting innovative online campaigns and planning a variety of events in meetings held on Maui and Kauai last Friday.

✈️ Since being elected on May 25th, we have been crisscrossing the state attending meetings with county and district leaders from Hilo to Līhue, and Hawaii Kai to Mākaha.


While we've enjoyed every visit and are looking forward to personally attending meetings in every district, one of our favorite visits was with our matriarch, “Aunty Pat” Saiki, with whom we discussed a bright and hopeful future for Republicans in Hawaii.

🗳️ On July 7th, we met at length with members of the RNC and Elections Commissioner Ralph Cushnie to discuss the ongoing election integrity challenges plaguing our state.

We thank those members who have been keeping the pressure up on this important issue at Commission hearings, and making our Republican presence and positions known and felt. The next Commission meeting is Wednesday, July 16th. See link below for information on how to participate.

📓 ICYMI, the HRP has partnered with Harvest Family Life Hawaii to fill backpacks with school supplies for children, with a special emphasis on foster and adoptive keiki, and those who are homeless or living in shelters.

This joint community service/coalitions project is on Monday, July 21st from 4-6pm at Bethany Assembly of God in Aiea.
