We’re not going to lie, this summer feels different than most, John.

On the one hand, we’re enjoying warm weather, walks along our many lakes, and seeing people at festivals and events all over West and Southwest Michigan.

On the other hand, the MAGA agenda is still casting its shadow of doom and gloom. It’s hard not to feel angry, sad, and scared — and we know you can relate.

But rather than stay inside and “doomscroll” on the internet, Jessica Swartz is actually doing something about it. She’s running to unseat our do-nothing GOP representative so we can have a voice in Congress again.

When we say we don’t have a voice in Congress right now, we mean that literally. Bill Huizenga has refused to hold any town halls with his constituents and has ignored our communities time and time again. Huizenga’s completely disconnected from our West and Southwest Michigan, and that is by design.

Jessica, on the other hand, is actually talking to constituents around our district, and she isn’t asking if they’re a Democrat, Republican, or independent. That’s because she understands how important it is that everyone be heard to achieve policies that work for all Michiganders — not just MAGA megadonors.

This is a winnable race, John. The DCCC has put this district on its target list because they know Jessica can unseat this incumbent. To get there, though, we need as much help as we can get, and we need that help today.
