Hi John,
Yesterday, my Finance Director, Sophie, reached out to you with a finance update on our campaign.
She let you know we’re facing a fundraising shortfall — and that we gave ourselves 48 hours to close the gap before we’re forced to scale back parts of our campaign.
As of this morning, we’re still not where we need to be. And in times like these — when Republicans are waging war on low-income Americans, gutting key economic protections, and pushing dangerous policies — that worries me.
This campaign isn’t just about me. It’s about what we stand for: Truth, accountability, defending democracy, and fighting for working people. It’s about standing up to Donald Trump and refusing to let his allies silence voices like ours in Congress.
But without meeting our fundraising goals, it’s going to be harder to keep up the fight.
To keep going strong and continue fighting back in Congress, I need the resources to compete — and I’ll be honest with you: We can’t afford to fall behind, not even for a week.

I’m Sophie Beaugrand, Eugene Vindman’s Finance Director, and I’m reaching out with an important financial health update on our campaign.
We’re in one of the most competitive House races in the country, and right now we’re tracking behind on our fundraising goals for the month. That puts us in a difficult position as we finalize our Q3 budget.
Here’s what that means:
We may have to delay our first round of paid media ads.
We’ll have fewer resources to hire organizers and build out field operations in a critical election year.
And we risk falling behind in a race where national Republicans are already targeting Eugene.
These are the dire consequences of our fundraising coming up short. Every decision from now on will determine whether Eugene’s fight for truth and accountability can continue at full strength.
Because the reality is that our values and strategy mean nothing if we don’t have the resources to execute and keep Eugene in Congress.
So here’s our plan: We’re giving ourselves 48 hours to close this gap before we’re forced to revise our budget downward. We know this grassroots team has always had Eugene’s back, so I’m counting on you again to help us close the gap.

Thank you in advance for your donation and for standing with Eugene.
