Dear John,
Summer is ramping up, and here at The Union, we’re fresh off a two-week road tour that saw us hold events up and down the East Coast. In New Jersey, we held community meet-and-greets in Montclair, Berkeley Heights, and Hamilton Township, as well as a town hall with former Representative Tom Malinowski in Flemington.
In Pennsylvania, we connected with ordinary citizens to learn about their concerns and their vision for the future of the state. And in Virginia, we held a community meet-and-greet in Alexandria, as well as town halls in Montpelier, Suffolk, and Blacksburg with local pro-democracy candidates such as Lily Franklin, Marcus Garcia, and Scott Konopasek. To cap it all off, we participated in Network NOVA’s Women’s Summit, with our own Reed Galen delivering some key remarks.
During that time, we heard from you about the issues affecting your states, including the rising cost of living, frustration with our two-party system, and concerns about threats to our basic freedoms as Americans. And while it’s clear that there are a lot of problems facing the region and the country, it’s equally clear that you have the fresh ideas we need to solve these problems, as well as the passion to see them implemented. |
Now it’s time to get to work to convert these ideas into concrete action. Fortunately, there are a lot of ways you can get involved — from joining our Slack channel, signing up for events on our Action Center, hosting a meet-and-greet in your community, helping to register voters, or joining one of our upcoming Team NJ, Team PA, Team VA, or Northeast Regional meetings. And if you’re interested in learning how to host your own event, we also have a special three-part Event Facilitation Training Series coming up later this month. No matter your interests or skill set, there’s a way for you to help, so step up, join us, and start making a difference today for your community, your state, and your country!
