The Black Radiance Network BBQ was full of vibrant community connection. Minnesota's Black-led organizing continues to thrive and grow and we're grateful to be a part of sustaining this ecosystem.&nbsp;Ready to keep the energy going? The Black Radiance Network will be launching a quarterly newsletter starting in September. This newsletter is specifically for organizations and individuals that are engaged in work to strengthen the Black movement ecosystem here in Minnesota.

We recently welcomed Migdalia Loyola Mel&eacute;ndez to our Co-Executive team. As Co-Executive Director, Migdalia joins Bilal to co-lead the work of Headwaters. Together, they will continue to build out our shared leadership model in partnership with our staff, board, grantee partners, and the broader community. Meet Maiya, July's Featured Artist
Maiya Lea Hartman is a Queer self-taught artist born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. Hartman&rsquo;s interdisciplinary practice employs methods of drawing, painting, sculpture and movement as interwoven modalities for understanding, discovering, and uncovering memories and the way that we experience them. In addition to their studio practice, Maiya is the Director of Artist Development for Public Functionary&rsquo;s emerging artist program, PF Studios.

🌱 From Public Health to Public Healing: Justice and Disability Futurity<[link removed]>Wednesday, July 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Join Healthcare Reparations Cooperative for July's Political Pedagogy. This is a facilitated time to hold the truth &ndash; that another world is possible. These two-hour hybrid sessions use joyful arts-based activities to tackle complex visioning in playful ways. Contrasting a classroom, sessions are curated as a collaborative workshop in the practice of a pedagogy that values the method of collective wisdom and processed learning. Each session asks participants to cultivate an action to bring back to their community as a method of dissemination and power building.&nbsp;

Calling all young artists and community champions! Join Native Youth Arts Collective for an incredible painting event. We are looking for passionate participants to help beautify 18th Ave S with street art and assist with crosswalk traffic monitoring.&nbsp;This is a fantastic opportunity for our youth to make a positive impact in our community, gain artistic experience, and have fun while giving back. Let's come together to craft vibrant street art that tells our collective story.

Join Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee&rsquo;s training for bystanders to ICE activity.&nbsp;The goal of this training is to provide accurate information on what immigration enforcement looks like, and what are the best practices for responding in an organized, effective way, based on experience.

Open for any MN Foster (anyone who experienced out of home care regardless of how they exited foster care). There will be transportation support provided for those in the Twin Cities, and virtual options for those in Greater MN. Dinner provided for all.
