Hi John,
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced two major efforts that would effectively remove all nationwide climate limits and set us back a decade in standards on other forms of toxic pollution from fossil-fuel power plants.
These gas- and coal-fired plants are some of our planet’s worst sources of pollution. And if they’re left unchecked, it’ll mean more health-harming, climate-warming pollution for communities across the U.S.
That’s why we need your help. Take action to defend these critical health and climate protections by submitting a public comment!

Don’t let EPA rollback critical protections for people and the planet.

Fossil-fuel power plants are responsible for a quarter of all U.S. climate pollution. They’re also a major source of toxic air pollution that directly harms human health. That’s why the Carbon Pollution Standards (CPS) and Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) are so important – the exact things Trump’s EPA is trying to remove.
The CPS safeguards our communities and the planet from the harms of climate pollution. And MATS protects our communities from dangerous pollutants like mercury, arsenic and lead that spew out of coal-fired power plants and end up in our air, water, soil and food. Together, these standards protect the public health and welfare from the dangers of power plant air pollution.
This reckless and unlawful attack on vital clean air protections would allow one of our nation’s largest sources of air and climate pollution to go unchecked. But that’s not all. It will cause thousands of premature deaths and burden U.S. taxpayers with billions of dollars in avoidable health care expenses.
The EPA needs to protect people, not our nation’s biggest polluters. Tell them to put the health of our communities and our planet first by submitting a public comment today!
