Hey John — I want to start this note off with gratitude.

Americans from all over the country made their voices heard and flooded my office (and, even more importantly, the offices of my colleagues across the aisle) with phone calls, letters, and messages demanding that we put a stop to the GOP’s disastrous budget bill.

Because of your support, we were able to stand up with everything we have — our team even led a 16-hour reading of this legislation alongside organizers, advocates, and everyday Arizonans that will be hurt by Republicans’ greed.

While I am furious that the bill passed, I am not surprised at the cowardice of my colleagues.
