Friends,

I don't know about you, but there aren't many groups more important to me than my local public radio station. 

From covering the stories closest to my home in Shawnee, to keeping our family up to date during Tornado season, local public radio has a special place in Oklahoma. 

I can't tell you the number of times I've been driving on a State Highway and depended upon local public radio to keep me safe from hail cores and hook echoes. 

And right now, Senators James Lankford and Markwayne Mullin are preparing to take hundreds of thousands of dollars away from those essential services.

But, there's still time!

I know we're all tired of leaving unanswered messages with our Senators who never seem to listen to us. But I promise you their offices track how many people call and why.

Because of pressure from constituents, Senate Republicans are still making changes to this package.

They just protected funding for a globally renowned aid program that works to stop the spread of HIV in Africa. 

You can call today and remind our Senators that public radio in Oklahoma is CRUCIAL to public safety in our hometowns.

This evening you still have a chance to remind them that they work for all of us back here in Tornado Alley -- not the lobbyists in DC.
