Hey friend,

Did you know that states enacted more restrictive voting laws in 2024 than in any year in the last decade except for 2021?

It’s true: Republicans are coordinating on the state and federal levels to silence communities, undermine democracy, and restrict voting freedom.

The result is Jim Crow 2.0.

Far-right extremists and MAGA Republicans aren’t using literacy tests and poll taxes this time. Instead, they are trying to suppress Black and brown communities from tapping into their voting power because these officials know they’ll lose power once other communities claim their own.

Republicans are expanding their voter suppression playbook, and we’re fighting back — by educating voters, tracking anti-voter initiatives, and holding far-right elected officials accountable. Fuel our efforts by donating to Fair Fight. [[link removed]]

Right now, Fair Fight is at the center of one of the most consequential voting rights cases in the country — and it starts with Georgia.

To refresh: A far-right, anti-voter group called True the Vote launched an effort to silence people who were disproportionately people of color and first-time voters with mass voter challenges, just weeks after Georgia flipped blue in a presidential election for the first time in 28 years.

Back in May, a federal appeals court heard our appeal in the case, Fair Fight v. True the Vote . While we wait for the court’s decision, we’re continuing to call out extreme anti-voter efforts by Republicans and fight back.

Our work is dedicated to exposing this coordinated anti-voter machine. There’s a nationwide network of political operatives, dark money, and right-wing organizations trying to make it harder for Americans — especially people of color, military voters, and students — to vote and have their voices heard, and they are not giving up any time soon.

People should not be forced to jump over hurdles just to cast their vote. As these anti-democratic, anti-voter tactics spread across the country, it’s more critical than ever that we keep up the fight.
