Friend,

I am proud to be an immigrant.

I was born in Taiwan and immigrated to the United States when I was just three and a half years old. My parents worked hard to achieve the American dream. We lived in a basement at the beginning, and my parents sold jewelry and gifts at local flea markets to make ends meet.

We were poor when we got here, but my parents eventually were able to save up enough money to open a gift store. They worked hard every single day so they could open up even more gift and jewelry stores where my brother and I would help out. We were able to get a quality education because of their sacrifices.

My parents' embodiment of the American dream is one of the reasons why I joined the U.S. Air Force on active duty. I have so much love for the country that made my parents' dreams a reality — and I know I will never be able to truly give back enough to the country that has given us so much. And it’s what I aim to do every day in Congress as I fight for everyday families.

I share my story because I know many Americans have stories similar to ours and because I know this: immigrants have made America strong.

Let’s continue to uplift the contributions of our nation’s immigrants and protect them from this Administration’s shameful policies. Are you with me? <[link removed]>
