Dear John,
In the weeks leading up to Rep. Mike Johnson’s historic
selection as Speaker of the House in 2023, I led a group from Christians Engaged, and we heard several of our Christian brothers and sisters who are Members of
Congress share their faith stories. Then we prayed earnestly for each one
over the direction of their leadership.
I will never forget praying specifically that day that God
would elevate our brother in Christ Mike Johnson to a new place of authority
in Congress so he would have a better opportunity to disciple and lead his
colleagues. Just three months later, leaders affirmed Johnson as the new
Speaker – in what I dubbed “a miracle.” It was a powerful reminder to all of us who attended that trip of the impact prayer can have on our government leaders and
our nation.
This picture of us praying for Congressman Mike Johnson and
Congressman Chip Roy that day was posted on then-Rep. Johnson's social media accounts, and it
was one of his top posts that people saw when they were looking to see
“who is this guy named Mike Johnson from Louisiana. Where did he come from?”
Today, I’m thrilled to invite you to stand in that same place
and power as we embark on our ministry trip to Washington, D.C., from October
25–29, 2025. This isn’t just a vacation; it’s a call to action for
believers to engage our nation’s spiritual and civic renewal. I call it a
conference, a tour and a ministry trip to elected officials – all wrapped up in
one.
Here’s what’s in store:
Day 1 – Arrival & Welcome Dinner
Connect with leaders like Bunni Pounds, Ben Quine, and Craig DeRoche—setting
hearts on mission.
Day 2 – Pray
Morning teaching and touring the Museum of
the Bible, followed by an intimate worship gathering. End the day with a serene
Moonlight Monuments Prayer Tour.
Day 3 – Vote
Meet with Supreme Court steps, Library of Congress, Union Station, and the U.S.
Capitol. Join exclusive private meetings with Members of Congress, including
Reps. Michael Cloud and Nathaniel Moran. (We typically meet with up to 10
Representatives and Senators on these trips who love our ministry.)
Day 4 – Engage
Hear practical lessons on engagement – from a national journalist, our
government affairs director, and a leader on Christian-Jewish relationships. Explore
foundational documents at the National Archives and the stirring Holocaust
Memorial. Wrap up with leadership training inside the Senate Building with
Senators.
Day 5 – Departure
A relaxed morning to soak in your experience before heading home refreshed and
renewed.
Through tours, prayer gatherings, exclusive meetings, and
worship, we aim to equip you to pray, vote, and engage under God’s guidance.
You’ll return inspired with practical tools and relationships to impact your
community and nation.
