The Senate will vote this week on whether to defund essential radio and television programs that millions of Americans listen to and watch every day. Programs like NPR, MPR, PBS, and thousands of local public radio stations across the country provide reliable, free news and educational programs for Americans all across the country – and for many Americans, public broadcasting systems are the only way they can receive key safety alerts.
