Release of Forum's 2018 annual report
The world is facing unprecedented and extremely complex sustainability challenges – from keeping global warming to within 1.5 degrees and ensuring the sustainability of food and value chains. Alongside this, there’s an urgent need to build the capacity for individuals and organisations to think systemically, and as the appetite to act on the climate crisis builds, we need to ensure interventions have scale and pace.
We all have a role to play in changing our current systems and can no longer afford false starts. Our latest Annual Report celebrates examples of where we’ve worked with businesses, civil society organisations and many more to determine truly systemic responses to the climate crisis.

This month, the Futures Centre has invited comment from young people across the world as part of a partnership with the YMCA to find out what empowerment means today, to build tomorrow’s thriving communities.
This culminated in a series of workshops in London, where over 500 people aged 15-60+ explored future scenarios to address key challenges, from environmental concerns to social cohesion in contexts of high migration and extreme demographics.

Helping shape the future of our cities
By 2040, there will be an extra two billion people living in cities globally. Assuming current transport models are scaled, this will mean another 500 million private vehicles on the roads. Already, vehicle emissions are responsible for 11% of global warming and while the need to create a more sustainable mobility system is undeniable, a complex, ever-changing regulatory environment makes it difficult for key private and public sector players to understand how and where to focus efforts.
That’s why we’ve partnered with the Transit Center on MOVING US, a unique project set to help shape the future of cities in the U.S.
