Hey John,
I wanted to uplift the great work that the Miami Herald has done in uncovering the names of the people being detained at “Alligator Alcatraz.”

DeSantis and his cronies wouldn’t release the names of the people being held there, even at the request of attorneys trying to find their clients . So reporters at the Herald went to work and uncovered the names so that families could know where their loved ones are and attorneys could help their clients.
The Herald found that of the 750 people being held, only 40 were findable on the government’s public facing website.
That’s over 700 people who aren’t accounted for. Think about that for a second: if no one knows where you are, how can your constitutional rights be protected?
I can’t believe this has to be said, but in a democracy, we have rights.
I’m running for Congress to protect those rights. I will work every day to stop what’s going on at “Alligator Alcatraz” and to protect our community from the unconstitutional, authoritarian, and disgraceful actions of DeSantis and the Trump Administration.
Families deserve to know where their loved ones are. Attorneys need to know where their clients are. Let’s keep the pressure on, spread the word about what’s happening, and stop “Alligator Alcatraz”!
