Dear John,
The Israeli government, with support from the Trump administration, is taking steps to annex significant portions of the West Bank as early as July 1. Annexation would violate international law, formalize land theft, lead to increased tensions and violence, and further deny Palestinian rights.
Tell Congress: Oppose Israeli annexation of Palestinian land and ensure that Israel faces consequences—including the ending of all military aid—should it annex any part of the West Bank.
Earlier this year, the Trump administration announced its “deal of the century” outlining its vision for Palestine and Israel, including support for Israeli annexation of parts of the West Bank—a radical departure from previous U.S. positions and the consensus of the international community.
Since the Oslo Accords were signed in the mid-’90s, the Israeli government has continually confiscated Palestinian land and built illegal settlements, steadily moving toward its goal of annexation and permanent control of Palestinian land. Annexation of the West Bank would formalize land theft that Israel has committed for decades.
Take action today to oppose annexation.
Annexation would also further harm Palestinians who live or own land in these areas that are already under full Israeli control. In Area C, for example, communities at risk of annexation already lack running water and electricity, face restricted access to medical care and education, and risk having their homes and other buildings demolished by Israel.
I hope you join me in urging Congress to oppose annexation and to impose consequences, should Israel move forward with its plan to illegally annex Palestinian land.
In peace,
