I’ll be direct, friend.

I'm asking you to send in a donation of $3 in this email. The Republican National Committee has launched a misleading social media campaign against me, and we have to keep focus back on the havoc they’re wreaking on us.

Let me give you the rundown on what's going on:

The Republican spending bill is deeply unpopular. For good reason: it strips healthcare and food assistance from millions of people to pay for another billionaire tax cut.

So they’re looking to create a distraction anywhere they can. In other words, Republicans don’t want you to focus on their cuts, so they’re lying about me.

They think the American people will think they are solving real problems when the truth of the matter is they’re actually just making them up, while mixing in infighting for good measure.

Here's the truth:

Republicans have no record to speak of when it comes to delivering for IL-17 or the country. So their plan is to spread falsehoods and distract from their real, extremist agenda, and silence anyone who speaks out on behalf of working people and the Bill of Rights.

Now, I know that you and I can see through their lies, but it takes work to get the record straight and keep focus on the issues that matter. So with that, I have to ask:

This unexpected smear attack requires an immediate response to get the truth out and the focus back on improving lives for working families. Can you please chip in $3 before midnight to make sure we can defend the record, and the 17th District?
