Dear John,
Thanks to activists like you, we have been able to successfully defend US funding for international conservation programs year after year. But now these programs are at risk: the Administration is calling on Congress to immediately cut more than $8 billion of international assistance funding that has already been approved!
The House of Representatives approved these destructive cuts last month, and if the Senate votes to do the same, we’ll lose critical resources for global conservation programs that protect wildlife, habitats, and communities worldwide.
The Senate could vote any day now—your Senators need to hear from you today about why they should vote NO to retroactive cuts to conservation programs.
If these cuts go into effect, they’ll harm local communities, undermine our efforts to create a safer and more stable world, and hurt our ability to protect wildlife.
Republicans and Democrats alike have supported smart foreign assistance programs for decades—including international conservation programs. Wiping them out now would undo the progress that has been made at a moment when both nature and people can least afford it.
Take 2 minutes now to help protect the conservation programs that safeguard our planet’s wildlife, habitats, and communities. |
