John, When we showed up in May for our first Medicaid vigil, your stories helped delay a vote in the House. In the weeks since then, our worst nightmare came true. Congress has passed and President Trump signed a budget bill that will gut trillions of dollars from Medicaid, Medicare, and other essential care programs.
So we’re heading back to Capitol Hill for another vigil, because we won’t just “get over it,” like some Congressmembers believe. We’re going to keep on fighting. And we need your help.
These cuts aren’t abstract. They threaten real people, real families, and real futures — and for many of us, the passing of this disastrous bill is something we’re all grieving.
You can help others understand the real pain and loss these cuts will cause. Will you share your story? You can take just a few minutes and share how you’re feeling about these Medicaid cuts.

Your video story may be shared in front of the U.S. Capitol and featured on our livestream during the Protect Medicaid vigil happening July 23-26.
This is our opportunity to let the world know exactly who is affected by these cuts — the people they are supposed to represent. Share your story by Friday, July 18 and join us during this critical moment.
We understand that recording yourself may feel intimidating, so we’ve created a document with some filming tips [[link removed]] . It should take no more than 15 minutes. All you need is a computer or phone camera, internet access, and yourself! Check out an example from our vigil in May. [[link removed]]
Your voice matters. Together, we will hold space to grieve this betrayal. We will share our stories, process our anger, and build the resistance that will hold our representatives accountable.
With care,
Nicole Jorwic, Chief Program Officer
