In a normal election, Kentucky’s voters would have access to almost 4,000 polling places.
But in today’s primary, all but 200 will be closed.
While there’s obviously a public health crisis to consider, these poll closures will disproportionately affect voters of color -- which is a strategy the GOP has been using long before the pandemic.
And many Kentucky voters who applied for absentee ballots still haven’t received them -- which means, if Kentuckians can’t cast primary ballots in-person today, they’ll never get the chance.
