John,
We're excited to watch Phillies stars Zach Wheeler and Kyle Schwarber play for the National League in Atlanta during this week's All Star game!
And next year, Philadelphia is making history — again.
In 2026, our city will be front and center on the global stage as we host six FIFA World Cup matches at Lincoln Financial Field and the MLB All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park, all during the year we celebrate America’s 250th birthday .
This is more than a sports moment. It’s a celebration of Philadelphia’s strength, resilience, and place as a world-class city. We expect to welcome over half a million visitors to our neighborhoods, stadiums, and small businesses, putting Philly’s culture, community, and pride on display for the entire world.
From June 14 to July 4, 2026, fans from around the globe will gather here to watch the world’s best soccer teams compete. And right after that, the best players in baseball will take the field for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, bringing another unforgettable week of events and excitement.
As your Council President, I couldn’t be more proud of what this means for our city. These events will bring opportunity, investment, and energy to Philadelphia and we want everyone to be a part of it.
