SIGN ON to Demand Accountability for Animal Suffering and Abuse!

Friend, did you know that there are countless federally-licensed puppy mills—high volume dog-breeding facilities—across the U.S. where dogs and puppies continue to suffer even though the federal government is supposed to be providing oversight and step in when there are clear violations of the law? Instead, these puppy mills continue to operate even when there is documentation of puppies dying or animals being denied veterinary care for obvious injuries, because the U.S. Department of Agriculture is simply not doing their job. You can take action to end this abuse today!

The USDA continues to fall short in addressing these egregious violations of the Animal Welfare Act and because of this lack of accountability, puppy mills with repeated violations of the AWA are allowed to stay open and vulnerable puppies and dogs continue to suffer and die.

That’s why today, we’re asking you to take action to help stop the suffering and abuse at puppy mills: Please contact your legislators and urge them to support the Better CARE for Animals Act.

The Better CARE for Animals Act would allow USDA and the Department of Justice to collaborate more effectively on federal cases enforcing the Animal Welfare Act through allowing DOJ to seek license revocations, civil penalties, and forfeiture to remove animals in harmful conditions. That means lifesaving intervention—sooner—for thousands of animals nationwide.

As an organization fighting for policy changes that put an end to the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering, we’re ready to act when bills like these are introduced and help get them past the finish line. But we can’t do it without your support, friend.

So please, before it’s too late for the dogs: Add your name to urge your legislators to pass the Better CARE for Animals Act, protect puppies and dogs from senseless suffering and fight animal cruelty nationwide.
