Why We Brought Caskets to Southern SenatorsWe must organize the pain that policy produces and refuse to accept unnecessary death
At our Moral Monday in Memphis yesterday, I was reminded of something we learned from the Rev. Jim Lawson, who invited Dr. King to Memphis in 1968: mass rallies are for mass education. We rallied yesterday in communities across the South to educate communities about what is coming because of the Big, Ugly Bill that just passed Congress. I’m glad to share my message with you here on Substack. Please help us share it as we use this space as a “freedom school” for popular education. To read and see more about the actions that happened in 12 Southern cities yesterday, see our post “Moral Mondays Go South.” https://ourmoralmoment.substack.com/publish/post/168377646 You’re currently a free subscriber to Our Moral Moment w/ Bishop William Barber & Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove.
