Team,
In 2010, I became the first member of the Virginia House of Delegates to be pregnant and give birth while in office. This experience not only gave me my son, Jackson, but also showed me how abortion laws impact health care decisions made by pregnant patients and their providers.
At the time, those decisions were protected under the landmark Roe v. Wade decision. Now, as I represent Virginians in Washington, D.C., I am keenly aware of what is happening in Virginia and how much is at stake.
I’m Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, hailing from Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. While I am on the ballot again in 2026, I want to discuss with you a more pressing deadline: The 2025 November elections in Virginia, where the outcome will determine the future of the Reproductive Freedom Amendment.
I am not going to sit here and tell you these elections are going to be easy.
When I helped lead the passage of the Reproductive Health Protection Act in the Senate of Virginia, I did it to ensure all Virginians have broader access to reproductive health. And I was able to do it with the support of a Democratic majority in the House, Senate, and Governor’s Office.
Bottom line: we need to ensure we have a pro-choice majority in the House and Senate. That is the critical next step to enshrine abortion rights into our Constitution.
I need your help. Will you join me in supporting Roe Your Vote Virginia as they work to support, endorse, and elect pro-choice Democrats to the House of Delegates and beyond? I know I can count on your support. Please rush $25 or whatever you can right away so we can protect abortion access in our state →

While I am working on protecting abortion access at the national level, you can join me in helping support Roe Your Vote as they fight to elect leaders who will defend it in Virginia.
Onward,
Jennifer McClellan
