Dear Free Software Supporter,

Thanks to free software supporters all over the world, we've been able
to welcome more than 100 associate members since the beginning of our
[spring fundraiser][1]. We appreciate all the support we receive for
our work strengthening software freedom -- but we need your help to
make it to the finish line. Since we only need 67 more members to
reach our spring goal of 200 new members, we've extended our
fundraiser another week to July 18. When it seems like the oligarchs'
hold over our digital autonomy grows tighter by the day, free software
is the solution for carving out a space where we are free to control
our own lives.

Can you join us in our crucial work to guard user freedom and defy
dystopia? [Become an associate member][6] today! Every associate
member counts, and every new member will help us get closer to
reaching our fundraising [goal][1] of 200 new members. By supporting
us today, you help defy dystopia.

Just like saying [no to just one nonfree program][11] lends crucial
support to the free software movement, so does every donation to the
FSF. It's your financial support that helps us defend the GPL from
current and future threats, campaign for software freedom, and run
dozens of services for the [GNU operating system][12] and other free
software projects. Can you spare the $5 USD on your next coffee for
the FSF instead? It might mean going without caffeine for a couple
hours -- but the support you'll be giving us is much longer lasting.

Thank you for supporting us through forty years of campaigning for
software freedom. We have a long way to go until the finish line of 67
more members in just a few days. Yet, with our dedicated and
passionate supporters -- and the help of the entire free software
movement -- I know we can achieve our goals.

In freedom,

Greg Farough
