CNN: FEMA response to Texas flood slowed by Noem's cost controls

CNN and The New York Times report that as Trump vowed to 'phase out' FEMA, thousands of desperate calls from flash flood survivors in Texas went unanswered because FEMA did not renew crucial call center contracts.

This is what happens when an administration sets out to damage and destroy government instead of to provide the services millions of people rely on. Congress has the power to put a stop to this.

Sign the petition to Congress launched by the PCCC and dozens of allies at WeNeedFEMA.com: "Don’t dismantle FEMA. Fund it fully and staff it with qualified and experienced professionals."

Every signature on this petition sends a powerful message to lawmakers: We demand a government that protects its people and responds quickly when they are in dire need. We need FEMA, and we need it fully funded and professionally staffed.

Thanks for being with us in this fight.
