Earlier this month, Donald Trump and the Republican Party sent a message to America: If you’re not a billionaire, we don’t give a damn about you.
Health care for struggling families. Food in the pantry for hungry kids. Support for our elderly neighbors. Republicans abandoned those people as soon as they passed their Big, Ugly Bill — giving tax handouts to billionaires to buy another private jet while cutting basic lifelines for millions of people.
We know the numbers: 17 million will lose health care, over 5 million will lose food assistance, and millions of hard-working folks will lose their jobs.
As Democrats, it’s up to us to make sure every voter knows who is responsible. They need to know that Republicans voted to take food away from toddlers so billionaires can stuff wads of tax money into their already deep pockets.
That’s why we’ve just launched a nationwide organizing initiative, Organizing Summer, to spread that message far and wide. We’re activating volunteers, registering voters, and building Democratic power now, ahead of the 2025 elections and the 2026 midterms.
This work is more important than it’s ever been. Because the only way we are going to check Trump’s power and stop more disastrous legislation like this from becoming our reality is by electing Democrats at all levels of government. To do that, I’m asking for your help.
