GOP Rep. Zach Nunn in IA-03

Hi John,

Big news out of Iowa: GOP Rep. Zach Nunn is running for re-election in the state’s 3rd Congressional District.

But make no mistake, this was *not* his first choice!

FIRST, Zach Nunn tried switching districts to IA-04 because Republicans have an easier time winning there. The White House shut that down.
THEN, he tried abandoning Congress entirely to run for governor instead. Trump shut that down, too.
NOW, he’s being forced to run for re-election in IA-03, a very competitive swing district with nearly 150,000 independent voters.

With control of the House likely coming down to just three seats, this represents one of the best opportunities we have to flip a Republican-held district.

Here’s what makes this district so competitive:

✅ Donald Trump lost this district in 2020

✅ Nunn only won by 2,144 votes in 2022, while Democrats running statewide all won the district with at least 54% of the vote

✅ The district includes traditionally blue areas like Des Moines as well as some competitive rural areas
