John,
It's like a slow tidal wave of voter suppression has been building up in Kentucky and is now crashing down as people head to the polls today. All eyes are on Jefferson County where half of Black Kentuckians live, but has just one polling place open today for 600,000 registered voters.
This is voter suppression by design, with the likelihood that Black voters in Kentucky will have a harder time voting.
Everything happening today in Kentucky -- and recently in Wisconsin and Georgia -- underscores why we need a massive shift to vote-by-mail ahead of the general election. We're the leading grassroots organization mobilizing people like YOU to help make it easier for people to vote-by-mail. Please make a grassroots contribution so we can continue this fight and protect ourselves from future waves of voter suppression.
It feels like this is a test run to see how badly Republicans can mess up primary elections ahead of November. Long lines and frustrated voters at overcrowded polling places are an insult to our democracy.
Trump is having meltdowns, worried that if more people vote-by-mail, then he’ll lose. That’s why so many GOP politicians are sitting on their hands or actively fighting against us when it comes to expanding vote-by-mail.
There’s something you can do to help: Fund our effort to send mail-in ballot applications directly to voters in swing states. With every $25 contribution, we're sending 20 mail-in ballot applications directly to voters.
For folks who are interested in politics, Election Day is usually an exciting rush. But when there are too few polling places and way too many voters, it's stressful to watch from afar. That's why we're mobilizing people like YOU to make a difference by ensuring that Americans can vote from home in 2020.
Thank you for being in this fight for vote-by-mail.
