Friends of LittleSis,

We’re officially halfway through the Research Tools for Organizing training series! Over 1,300 people decided to level up their strategic tool kit and train with us this summer.

We began the series with an intro to power research and explored how to identify key networks of corporate power that uphold and profit from systemic injustices. From there, we took a closer look at the corporation—the dominant organizational structure in our extractive political economy—at our last training.

A member of [We Count]([link removed]) joined us to talk about the [Build a Better Miami]([link removed]) coalition’s efforts to win a Community Benefits Agreement for workers, tenants, and community residents on Swerdlow Group’s proposed redevelopment project in the City of Miami. We also discussed how to use different research tools through the example of [The People’s Case Against DTE Energy]([link removed]).

You can find the recordings of the last two training sessions – and all of our RTFO trainings – on our [Map the Power]([link removed]) website, along with the training slides.

Join us Thursday for our next training

[Research Tools for Organizers 2025, nonprofits, July 17, 7-8:30 pm ET. From colleges and cultural institutions to corporate front groups, many influential organizations are governed by US non-profit laws. This training will discuss: the role of nonprofits in elite power structures; where to find public information about nonprofit revenues, boards and staff, major contractors, grantees, and more.
