This month, Donald Trump and his Republican allies rammed through their so-called “Big Ugly Bill,” and it’s as devastating as it sounds.
This bill would rip health care away from 17 million Americans, gut food assistance for 5 million more, and for what? Another major handout to billionaires and big corporations.
It’s a reckless, cruel giveaway to the ultra-wealthy, paid for by working families across the country. It’s a disgrace.
Even more infuriating: This couldn’t have passed without support from Republican representatives right here in Wisconsin, including vulnerable Rep. Derrick Van Orden.
Multiple election experts are calling Van Orden’s district, WI-03, a ‘TOSS-UP’ which means this race is anyone’s to win.

As painful as this moment is, what we need to do next is crystal clear: We must defeat the House Republicans in vulnerable “toss-up” districts and take back the majority in 2026.
These members had a choice: Stand up for their constituents and reject a bill that guts health care, or fall in line behind Donald Trump. They chose Trump.
Now, they’ll have to face something even stronger: a grassroots movement that holds them accountable. Because if you vote to strip away people’s health care, you don’t deserve to represent them.
Here’s the bottom line: Derrick Van Orden is one of just a handful of Republicans in “toss-up” districts. Defeating him lays a clear path for Democrats to take back the House majority.
