John, The district I am running in, New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional district, is the most vulnerable open blue seat in the country right now and the Democratic hold over it hangs by a thread. Although the MAGA coalition is fracturing over Medicaid cuts and questions about Trump’s possible implication in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, the GOP is doubling down on flipping NH-01. To win this toss-up district, MAGA is banking on not facing off against a strong Democrat like me who can outshine the GOP nominee. It’s for this reason that the NRCC, the RNC’s Congressional arm, attacked me by name on the day we launched our campaign—and it’s for this reason that MAGA attacked my Wikipedia page and had it deleted yesterday: Until Sunday we had a Wikipedia page but now because of Republican meddling, it’s gone—however, our volunteers are hard at work on getting it back up. Why does the GOP and MAGA attack me and why are they working to ensure word about my candidacy doesn’t get out? Because I am a threat to them. They know they can’t win this seat against a strong Democrat. I’ve taken on and won uphill pro-bono human rights cases, served as a military officer and lawyer representing soldiers when no one else was in their corner, and have tackled the nation's toughest national security challenges as Special Counsel in the Office of the Secretary of Defense. At the same time, I have fought my whole life for progressive causes. This is a real track record that will resonate with voters. MAGA knows it and they are scared. My progressive platform offers voters an alternative to the fake-populism of MAGA which has entrenched itself in New Hampshire thanks to the vacuum left by years of corporate Democratic policies which didn’t do a whole lot to help people. I support a living wage, Medicare for all, and a new approach to foreign policy with values — policies that when put head to head against MAGA’s, win out every time. That’s why they are working night and day to try and crush the Urrutia campaign and ensure that they won’t have to face us in the general election. They want a weak Democratic opponent but we won’t let them have it.
