Trump faces a revolt from his MAGA base over the Epstein files
Trump picked a very bad weekend to pick a fight with his base over the promised Jeffery Epstein files, as thousands of his most loyal zealots gathered at the Turning Point USA-organized Student Action Summit...and all they wanted to talk about was Epstein. “I think that these people — and I don’t know, for whatever reason, there could be reasons — but I don’t think they’re telling us the truth about Epstein,” podcaster Brandon Tatum told the assembled crowd at the Tampa Convention Center. “I think that that guy was involved in something nefarious that implicates a whole lot of people. And my guess is that a whole lot of people may happen to be some of our allies and some people that we don’t want to have a bad relationship with.” Many attendees and speakers called for Attorney General Pam Bondi to be fired, and the room was permeated with a palpable sense of frustration and sense of betrayal, especially after Trump dismissed the entire thing as a Hillary-Obama conspiracy on Saturday. “It’s not even about Pam Bondi to me. It’s like, look, Trump, we elected you because you were supposed to be different,” said attendee Sharon Allen. Time to wake up and smell the covfefe, Shannon. He's NOT different. Now what are you gonna do about it?

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Trump embarasses himself trying to steal the spotlight at FIFA Club World Cup champion ceremony
Perpetually jealous of anyone getting more attention than he is, Trump invaded the dais while English soccer team Chelsea lifted the FIFA Club World Cup trophy, even standing in front of the team's star player and forcing the FIFA President Gianni Infantino to try to get him to move out of the way. Team captain Reese James appeared to ask Trump if he was going to leave or not. However, Trump did inspire a rare moment of unity...by the fans of both Chelsea and their rival PSG putting aside their differences to lustily boo Trump on several occasions. A little glimpse into what we might see this upcoming World Cup as fans from around the world unite in their wish to give Trump a red card.

Randall Woodfin leads the fight against Trumpism in the heart of MAGAland
Randall Woodfin for Mayor: Birmingham, Alabama Mayor Randall Woodfin has spent years protecting Alabama Democrats and fighting against a radical and deeply hostile MAGA state legislature intent on snuffing out Black power, Black voices, and Black rights — but everything he’s accomplished is at risk if he doesn’t win re-election, including losing control of the city’s water system to the GOP’s big business cronies. Will you chip in to help re-elect Randall Woodfin and keep the tides of GOP racism at bay?
GOP infighting over Trump’s DOGE cuts to take center stage as deadline looms
Fresh off passing the most unpopular and damaging bill in American history, the GOP is back on the Hill to further worsen the state of our nation by enshrining DOGE's funding cuts for foreign aid and public broadcasting into law. As usual, fierce GOP infighting remains the primary obstacle to filling Donald Trump's request to claw back $9.4 billion in already-allocated spending. They're going to have to use an obscure presidential budget law used to circumvent the Senate filibuster (funny how there's always one of those available to do BAD things) and that means the Senate is likely going to put the House in a tough situation for the second time in two weeks — but seeing as Trump has already declared that “any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or endorsement,” you can be sure these spineless cowards will fall in line after the inevitable "will-they-won't-they" dance in the media. The real monstrosity are the cuts that Trump is personally pushing for: a billion dollars from NPR and $400 million more for PEPFAR, the anti-AIDS medication program that has saved 26 million lives around the world. Ignorance and death are the only things Donald Trump has to offer the world.
US undocumented farm workers feel "hunted like animals" amid Trump’s immigration raids
“We really feel like we’re being hunted, we’re being hunted like animals. You can’t go out peacefully to do things, or go to work with any peace of mind anymore. We’re stressed out and our kids are stressed out. No one is the same since these raids started. We are stressed and worrying if it continues like this, what are we going to do because the rent here is very expensive and it has affected us a lot. How are we going to make ends meet if this continues?” said one worker to the Guardian. Trump's recent announcement that they were looking at ways to pass off immigration authority to the farmers themselves has raised even more concerns among immigrants. Rosalinda Guillen, a farm worker from Washington, community organizer, calls it “as close to slavery … that he can give to them...Giving workers an opportunity who are already here in this country the ability to work and support their families and stay in this country by giving up their dignity and their freedom to their employer? If that isn’t a definition of slavery, I don’t know what is.” Judging from the current state of the Donald Trump mass deportation regime and the wanton cruelty, neglect and sadism being exhibited by both ICE's agents and its commanders, it's safe to say that those concerns are not hyperbolic.
Judges are deporting record numbers of young children under Trump
More kids aged 11 or under — 8,317 — received a removal order from an immigration court in April than any other month in over 35 years of data collection, according to court data from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC). Since Trump’s inauguration in January, judges have ordered removals for over 53,000 immigrant kids. Those children are predominantly elementary school age or younger. Some 15,000 children were aged under four years old, and 20,000 of them were children aged four to eleven. A far cry from the hardended criminals and gang members that we were promised by Trump and his heartless goons.
Trump’s 30% tariffs would "practically prohibit" EU-US trade, says EU trade chief
Over the weekend, Trump abruptly threatened to impose 30% tariffs on all trade from the EU, because we're getting ripped off, or something. Maroš Šefčovič, the EU trade commissioner, said a tariff of 30% or more would have a huge impact, making it “almost impossible to continue” current transatlantic trade, which was worth $1.96 trillion in trade goods and services last year. "The feeling on our side was that we are very close to an agreement,” said Šefčovic, who pointed out that the EU team has shown immense patience in dealing with the mercurial and irrational Trump. “If (the tariff) stays 30 (percent) plus, simply trading as we know it will not continue, with huge negative effects on both sides of the Atlantic. I will definitely do everything I can to prevent this super-negative scenario," added Šefčovič. Trump's crusade to commit national suicide and turn the United States into an international pariah is the only thing he's made progress on since taking office.
Obama’s blunt message for Democrats: "Toughen up"
President Obama had some harsh words for Democrats at a private fundraiser in New Jersey this weekend, saying that “I think it’s going to require a little bit less navel-gazing and a little less whining and being in fetal positions. And it’s going to require Democrats to just toughen up. You know, don’t tell me you’re a Democrat, but you’re kind of disappointed right now, so you’re not doing anything. No, now is exactly the time that you get in there and do something. Don’t say that you care deeply about free speech and then you’re quiet. No, you stand up for free speech when it’s hard. When somebody says something that you don’t like, but you still say, ‘You know what, that person has the right to speak.’ … What’s needed now is courage.” He is correct. It would be nice if he would say these things in public, or maybe do something himself.
Children collecting water among 92 Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza
At least 10 Palestinians have been killed at a water collection point in central Gaza, six of them children, as famine spreads in the besieged enclave and food and water supplies remain at critically low levels. Israeli forces on Sunday killed at least 92 Palestinians, 52 of them in Gaza City, as they targeted residential areas and displacement camps across Gaza, medical and local sources told Al Jazeera. The attack on the water distribution point in Nuseirat refugee camp, which also wounded 16 people, came as the Israeli military steps up attacks as it prepares to force the entire population of Gaza into a concentration zone in the south.
Senate report details "preventable failures" surrounding Butler assassination attempt
The U.S. Secret Service denied multiple requests for additional resources from President Trump's detail during his campaign, according to a new report on the Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt. The report released Sunday from the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs detailed a "disturbing pattern of communications failures and negligence" that led to the death of a rally-goer and sparked intense scrutiny into USSS protocols. "It was a cascade of errors," said Sen. Rand Paul on Sunday. "It was just one after another. When we talk to people in charge of security, everybody pointed the finger at someone else." The report comes at a very convenient time for Trump and his cronies, as his loyal influencers and Congressional mouthpieces immediately seized on the report to try to distract the MAGA rank-and-file from the Epstein debacle by reminding them that SOMEONE (with a conveniently forgotten right-wing political affiliation) tried to kill Trump.
