Voters in Georgia and Kentucky are facing incredible barriers to voting. Here's how to help

Friend —

Welcome to our Repro Freedom Update, a monthly(ish) update from #VOTEPROCHOICE on the status of reproductive freedom.

This is an important moment in our fight for personal autonomy and the freedom to make choices for our own families.

States are banning abortion, voters are facing barriers, and the Supreme Court is about to make some major decisions on birth control and clinics.

So let's break it down:
Here's some good news: Voters are showing up in historic numbers

Here's the thing: Voters are showing up in places like Georgia, even in the face of underprepared polling stations, malfunctioning machines, and lines lasting hours on end.

We are so proud of the work we did in the Georgia Primary, sending 32 incredible #VOTEPROCHOICE endorsed candidates to the November General Election, with 3 more heading to a runoff! But we cannot celebrate our wins without acknowledging the voter suppression targeting Black communities and disenfranchising voters.

If you encounter *any* questions or problems in the voting process, please call the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
Coming Up: Supreme Court decisions on reproductive freedom!
Any day, the Supreme Court will rule on cases that could affect the foundation of our reproductive freedom.

* June Medical Services v. Russo ([link removed]) -- Depending on the outcome of this case, clinics could be forced to close not just in Louisiana where the case originated, but also across the country.
* Trump v. Pennsylvania ([link removed]) -- The Trump Administration is trying to push birth control out of reach for millions of people, by allowing employers to opt-out of providing insurance coverage for contraception.

No matter the outcome of these cases, it's clear that we cannot depend on anti-choice judges and justices like Brett Kavanaugh to protect our reproductive freedom. We must elect prochoice leaders to every state and local office who will protect our reproductive freedom and our right to control our own bodies. ([link removed])
In the meantime, we cannot forget: Tennessee moved to ban abortion last week.

On Friday, Tennessee legislators passed a six-week abortion ban, which is earlier than the vast majority of people even know that they're pregnant.

The ban has not taken effect and it was immediately challenged, but the bill includes punishment for abortion providers with up to 15 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

Time to take action: Pledge to Vote Prochoice in 2020 to save reproductive freedom! ([link removed])

We have no choice but to show up in full force this year to ensure a future where we freely make decisions for ourselves and our families.
Thank you for staying with us in the fight for reproductive freedom. Together, we're going to win.

In solidarity,
Heidi L. Sieck
