Hi John,

My name is Katie Young, and I’m honored to be the new Finance Director for the Minnesota DFL. We’ll be working closely together, so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

I was born and raised in a small town in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin—an area known for its beautiful bluffs, small farms, and deep sense of community. In 2015, I moved to attend the University of Minnesota, and I’ve called this state home ever since.

After graduating, I joined the Minnesota House DFL team. I spent the next six years growing into new roles, learning new things, and helping elect DFLers to the Minnesota House of Representatives.

Through it all, I’ve seen just how powerful grassroots support can be. It gives all of us an opportunity to invest in the future we want for our communities and lays the foundation for real progress.

That’s why I’m so excited to be taking on this new role at the DFL. In this critical moment, our party needs resources to fight back against Donald Trump and his dangerous agenda. My goal is to make sure we have the tools to take on the Trump administration, defend our communities, and keep building a better future for Minnesotans.

But we can’t do any of that unless we stay on track—and right now, we’re behind on our fundraising goals. To close the gap, we need to raise $20,000 by Friday night.
