Hi Friend,
You called and emailed your lawmakers, and they listened: Because of you, the ten-year ban on state and local AI regulations was struck from Trump’s budget bill! [1]
This ban would have made it impossible for lawmakers across the country to protect kids and communities from the harms of AI – whether to our information systems, our privacy, or our electrical grids. Now, states have the ability to ensure protections for their residents.
The removal of this ban is proof that there is real bipartisan support for AI regulations around our safety and privacy. And that our voices and our advocacy make a real difference. It’s up to us to ensure that lawmakers don’t just stop a bad ban – they need to actually pass regulations that make AI safer.
It’s why we’re committed to working with advocates like you who are willing to speak up for a safer digital world for all of us. Thank you.
In solidarity,
Nicole Gill
