Dear Friends,

This week has been a powerful reminder of both the strength and the heartbreak that shape our community and state. I was honored to spend time with local veterans whose courage and quiet service continue to inspire. At the same time, my heart is with those impacted by the devastating floods in Hill Country, especially the families of the young girls at Camp Mystic.

In both moments, we saw the spirit of Texas on full display: resilience, sacrifice, and neighbors lifting one another up. As we reflect on these events, may we be reminded to cherish each day and live with greater gratitude and compassion.

Sincerely,

Flooding in the Texas Hill Country

This week, my heart is with everyone impacted by the devastating flash floods in Hill Country, Texas. In the face of unthinkable loss, we’ve witnessed extraordinary courage: neighbors saving neighbors, ordinary Texans becoming heroes. That’s the spirit of our state, and no flood can wash it away. We mourn those we lost, especially the young girls at Camp Mystic, and stand with every family grieving in the wake of this tragedy.

Moments like these remind us how fragile life can be and how important it is to cherish each day. Hold your loved ones close, say “I love you” more often, and be grateful for the quiet blessings we so easily overlook. May we honor those we lost by living with greater gratitude, compassion, and love for one another.

Veterans and Patriots United Lunch

Image
This week, I had the pleasure of joining everyone at The Woodlands Bible Church for the Veterans & Patriots United lunch. It was a meaningful reminder of the strength, dignity, and continued sense of service that define our veteran community. Many in this group are walking a courageous path of healing from the invisible wounds of war, leaning on discipline, purpose, and one another. As your Congressman and a fellow veteran, I’m honored to stand with you. My team and I are always here to help—whether it’s with VA benefits, health care, or simply being someone you can count on.
