Elise Champions Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act Passing in One Big Beautiful
Bill


Elise stated –


“I am proud to have led on expanding learning opportunities for the
development of a skilled American workforce. The passage of the One Big
Beautiful Bill allows Pell Grants to be used for high-quality short-term
programs that will help more Americans fill critical workforce gaps. Unlocking
skills and development opportunities will help link workers with high-demand
career fields in New York State and across the United States."


American Trucking Associations SVP of Legislative Affairs Henry Hanscom stated
–


“Helping more qualified drivers get behind the wheel is essential to ensuring
our industry can continue to deliver the nation’s freight safely and
efficiently. By expanding Pell Grant flexibility to make short-term educational
programs eligible, the Big Beautiful Bill will open the door of opportunity to
more young people seeking rewarding, good-paying careers in trucking. ATA
commends Congress for passing this important fix, and we thank Rep. Stefanik
for her longstanding support of this effort to reduce barriers to one of the
few professions that can provide a middle-class lifestyle without the time and
expense of a four-year college degree.”


Business Roundtable Vice President of Education & Workforce Donald McIntosh
stated –


“Business Roundtable commends the inclusion of Workforce Pell Grants
provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill. Expanding Pell Grant eligibility to
include high-quality, short-term training programs will help more Americans
develop in-demand skills and fill critical workforce gaps."

Elise Calls Out CUNY Chancellor for Attempting to Back Out from Hearing on
Higher Ed Antisemitism AGAIN


Elise stated –


“I am preparing for the upcoming July 15th Committee on Education & Workforce
Hearing on Antisemitism in Higher Education: Examining the Role of Faculty,
Funding, and Ideology with the presidents of Georgetown & Berkeley and look
forward to holding them accountable for the rot of antisemitism permeating
their campuses.

Unfortunately, CUNY Chancellor Felix Matos Rodriguez is for the third time
attempting to back out of testifying.

Chancellor Rodriguez, please confirm your attendance immediately with the
other college presidents to testify - and I would be remiss if I did not remind
you that Congressional Republicans have subpoena authority and have used it
extensively in our higher education investigations."

Elise Requests DNI Director Gabbard Expedite a National Security Review of
Chinese Drone Manufacturers


Elise stated –


“Chinese Communist drones present a significant risk to U.S. national
security. With the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party and the
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, I asked the Director of
National Intelligence to expedite a national security review of Chinese drone
manufacturers. I will continue to lead the effort in Congress to expand U.S.
drone manufacturing.”

Elise Agrees with Transportation Sec. Duffy: Hochul’s Subway System is
DANGEROUS!


Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy stated –


“It’s dangerous to ride the subway in New York…. This is a war on middle
Americans, working Americans who have to ride the subway. And these people
(Hochul) don’t seem to want to make it safe.

And so it’s very simple. Our point is, listen, if you want the federal
government to participate in funding your subway system, your bus system, make
it safe so people and families can get on and make sure they’re not going to
have their lives threatened, their health threatened when they ride the subway.”


Elise stated –


“Secretary Sean Duffy is correct. In Kathy Hochul's NY, it is DANGEROUS to
ride the subway. If the Worst Governor in America wants the federal government
to participate in funding the New York subway system, then it actually needs to
be safe."

devastating flooding in Texas, especially the precious young girls from the
summer Camp Mystic. God speed our first responders who we fellow Americans know
are working day and night to save these dear lives.”
