Joined President Trump in Hill Country

On Friday, I joined President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in Kerrville, Texas, where we were briefed on emergency response measures underway in Texas.

The Texas Hill Country holds a special place in the hearts of so many Texans. What has unfolded over the past few days is nothing short of heartbreaking. Lives have been lost, including those of innocent children.

My prayers are with all of those impacted by the devastating flooding in Texas.

President Trump made it clear from day one that Texas will receive federal resources to support Hill Country communities during this tough time for our state.

During his visit, President Trump assured us that Texans will be supported throughout every stage—from recovery to rebuilding.

Honoring an American Hero

In the wake of the devastating flooding impacting Texans, Coast Guard Petty Officer Scott Ruskan’s actions prove what real service looks like.

On his first-ever mission, Ruskan saved 165 lives.

I’m introducing a resolution in Congress to honor this brave American hero. His selfless courage embodies the spirit and mission that makes us proud to be American in such disheartening times.

When disaster strikes, it’s the U.S. military, first responders, and citizens who rise to the moment. I thank these brave Americans who remind us what true service looks like.

TX-23 Lends a Hand

In the aftermath of the flooding in Texas, communities across TX-23 have shown what it means to be Texas strong.

From first responders to city leaders to volunteers, folks jumped into action—rescuing families, delivering supplies, and helping neighbors rebuild.

From all of us on Team Gonzales, thank you for your service.

God Bless Texas.
