I know people are overwhelmed right now — they are discouraged and they are hopeless. But we’re going to have to fight back and match the Republicans’ energy. We can sleep in shifts, but this is going to require everyone.
We cannot have people more outraged about a progressive winning a mayoral primary in New York City than they are about the rolling back of our civil rights and an existential threat to our democracy and our very planet.
At every single chance we get, we need to stand up, speak out, and stand in the gap for one another.
An attack on health care, food benefits, and diversity, equity and inclusion is an attack on everyone: Veterans, women, the LGBTQ community, Black folks — it is a threat to everyone. We need to move and act accordingly.
If you think that you can be inoculated from the harms of this administration, just know, none of us will be exempt. They are coming for everyone.
But I believe in the power of the people. And the people have won victories after standing up to Trump’s recklessness and lawlessness.
A federal judge has blocked Trump’s executive order ending the constitutional guarantee of birthright citizenship. (He clearly has not read the Constitution — just like he doesn’t read the Bible — which states that if you're born in America, you're American. Period.)
And after relentless advocacy, we welcomed home Rümeysa Öztürk who was unjustly detained for simply exercising her fundamental First Amendment rights.
We’ve proven that if we resist and if we apply pressure, that we can force them to reverse course. We’re going to have to keep at it, and I’m in this fight all the way.
