Dear John xxxxxx,
Summer is here, and while many of us are taking holidays and enjoying warmer days, the important work of change doesn’t stop.
Having served in four Labour Governments, I’ve seen what we can achieve in power: transforming our NHS and schools, lifting children out of poverty, and making Britain a better place to live and work.
That same belief in public service fuels Keir Starmer’s Government today. The changes we’re starting to see fill me with pride in our movement: NHS waiting lists down consistently; our railways coming back into public ownership; wages rising for the lowest-paid; free breakfast clubs in our primary schools; and the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights for a generation.
These are changes only Labour delivers. Not the Tories, and certainly not Nigel Farage’s Reform. But alongside pride in our progress, we know that the road ahead will be challenging.
This year’s local election results were tough for many of our members. And while our Labour Government is responding by listening, and going further and faster on delivering the change people voted for, our party must square up to the rapidly evolving opposition.
While the Tories fight amongst themselves, Farage’s Reform Party are busy raking in £1 million at a time at private dinners. They’re using their newfound funding to professionalise their operation and build a competitive campaign machine. If we’re to keep both the Tories and Farage where they belong – away from the levers of power – our campaign must outpace theirs at every turn.
That’s why I’m asking you to step up today to help. For a suggested donation of £3 per ticket, you can enter this year’s Summer Draw for your chance to win £10,000. That’s cash you can save or spend as you wish - and, more importantly, help build the war chest we need ahead of another huge year of elections, so we can drown out Farage on the ground, on the web and on the airwaves.
It’s simple to enter: complete the form below by the deadline of Tuesday 29 July. Any extra donations will be gratefully received and turned straight into action:
