During BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re honoring the experiences of LGBTQ+ young people of color—and digging deeper into what real support looks like.
Our recent research brief explores how friend support, family support, and community acceptance shape mental health and suicide risk for trans and nonbinary (TGNB) young people of color.
What we found isn’t surprising—but it’s powerful: TGNB young people of color who had high levels of family support had a 47% lower odds of attempting suicide in the past year than those with low to moderate levels of family support.
