Donald Trump is lying about Social Security. Again.

We’ve seen this pattern before: Trump’s big promises lead to even bigger headlines, but when the details come out — working families, seniors and vulnerable communities get left behind.

Now, Trump is bragging that he’s eliminated taxes on Social Security benefits. But the truth? His latest bill only includes a temporary deduction for some seniors — and still leaves millions of people footing the bill.

This isn’t a serious plan to support retirees. It’s another political stunt to distract from the fact that Republicans are still trying to chip away at the programs Americans count on every day.

As a U.S. Senator — and as someone who cares deeply about protecting economic security for hardworking people across the country — I refuse to let this slide.
