John, after any election, there will always be some measure of change. New parties in charge of decisions, new legislation being considered, and this year, a new president.
But do you know what will never change? Who we are and what we stand for.
We want to take a moment, in this period of change, to reintroduce Teachers Unify and the people who started this movement. But you are one of the people who furthers this movement every day. So John, if you’re with us to keep the focus steady on ending gun violence and protecting our school communities no matter what, please make a donation right now. ([link removed])
We started this movement to amplify voices that have been largely ignored. Three of those were ours: the co-founders of Teachers Unify.
Sarah Lerner survived the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. She’s part of this fight because she believes every member of our school communities deserves to feel safe and supported. She also knows we can’t feel that way until we end the scourge of gun violence.
Sari Beth Rosenberg has been a NYC public school teacher for over 22 years, and realized in this time that teachers are first responders, too. She’s in this fight because she knows we can’t do our full jobs unless we’re heard in conversations about solving the gun violence crisis.
Abbey Clements is a teacher-survivor of the Sandy Hook School tragedy, who has spent nearly every day since advocating for safe schools and communities.
We may just be three people. But we opened the doors for thousands of people like you to carry this movement beyond our wildest dreams… and we’re just getting started.
This movement of teachers, school staff, and the people who support us is facing the gun violence crisis head-on, and making real progress. But we need grassroots support to keep that work funded. Please, can we count on you to fuel this movement for change? >> ([link removed])
