Trump is ramping up his efforts to undermine our elections, John. The federal agency responsible for defending our elections from cyberattacks and disinformation, CISA, is being gutted.

Reports from across the country show election offices struggling without the security support they once relied on. Training has been scaled back. Communication has slowed. Tools to detect interference are going dark.

This is Trump’s plan in action:

Strip away the guardrails. Starve election infrastructure. Create chaos. Then step in to “fix” it with authoritarian control.

It’s already happening. And CISA is just the start.

We can’t wait for the next crisis to respond. Democratic Secretaries of State are stepping up in the vacuum — defending our systems, training election workers, and holding the line.
